From the Garden
Seeding and planting starts as soon as the weather allows, so on an average year we can offer fresh garden spinach, lettuce radish and green onions as soon as late May.
By mid-summer we have leafy Beets and Swiss Chard as well as sweet Carrots, Field and Pickling cucumbers, Zucchini and some fresh Corn by August.
Later in the summer we still have the root vegetables, mature onions and winter squash.
From the Greenhouse
If you are in the market for vine ripened, mouth watering tomatoes, this is where you’ll find them!! Just ask our many, many repeat customers!! They each pick their favourites from the three types we grow, Cherry, Salad or Beefsteak.
Also greenhouse grown are juicy and sweet English, Slicing and Muncher Cucumbers. Picked while you wait, or with care, you can pick your own.
Sweet Bell and some varieties of hot peppers are also seeded early so they are usually available by Mid June. Come and have a look!! You won’t be disappointed!!
From the Berry Patch
We grow sweet, Everbearing Strawberries. This variety gives us a light crop of delicious fruit in July and then a heavier and even tastier yield in August until the first frost. U-pick by appointment.
We have over 1600 Saskatoon bushes in 2 orchards. We water them often so the berries are large and juicy, sometimes getting dime sized!!
Chokecherries are usually ripe by late August, ready for making delicious jelly and syrup!! Weather permitting we also have smaller quantities of Raspberries, Black and Red Currants, Evans and Nanking Cherries, Gooseberries and very Red Rhubarb!
Our On Farm Store
Our store, although not a huge space, is probably the busiest room in the farm! It serves multiple uses as a workspace for packaging, storing and selling our home grown produce. It houses 2 freezers, one in which you will find our delicious and juicy home raised Beef, sold in individual cuts, as well as whole Roasting Chickens all of which are raised without antibiotics or hormones.
In the second freezer, loads of Frozen Fruit that we put away during last seasons harvest, and frozen Tomatoes which are perfect for popping into soups and stews.
On the Preserves shelf is a good variety of home canned Jams, Jellies, Pickles and Relishes. Glenwood Gold Natural Honey harvested from bees that live on our farm is available too!!
Another addition are Art Cards, prints of Heathers Paintings perfect to send to that special friend or family member! Come in and check it out!!
